Have you been thinking about getting a tattoo removed from your body? Believe it or not, there are some particular kinds that are easier to remove than others. That isn’t to say our professionals can’t remove every tattoo, we just want you to know that some processes won’t be as simple as others.
One of the questions that we’ve seen a lot pertains to color. What colors are easiest to remove? Whether you believe it or not, black ink and gray ink are the easiest colors to remove from the body. Having the correct laser wavelength for dark colors is easier than light because they tend to always be the same blackness. When the hue changes, there are differences needed in the wavelength. So when dealing with primarily black tattoos, the number of procedures is lower than others.
Difficulty comes in the form of blues, reds, greens, and yellows. Since these colors can be many different shades, the tuning of the laser becomes harder and harder. In fact, when dealing with colors such as these, it’s not uncommon to need a few more procedures than normal in order to completely get rid of the tattoo.
Another factor in determining difficulty of the procedure is age. You may have a brand new tattoo that you don’t particularly want, but you’d be wrong if you thought it would be easier to remove than an older tattoo. As they age, the skin naturally absorbs some of the ink and fades the colors, essentially removing it via natural means. A fresh tattoo has a lot of pigment that hasn’t been absorbed, and therefore there are more treatments required in order to completely get rid of it. Also consider whether you have an amateur tattoo or a professional one, as we find it’s easier to remove amateur tattoos that have less line work and therefore less ink.
